Sacramento’s own Jae Synth Producer turned go to Video Director talks about his successful transition

Bronx, NY born, Jae Synth has been involved in the local entertainment industry in Sacramento, CA for many years has taken a turn since ‘04 from music making and engineering into video production since his experience at The Academy of Arts in San Francisco, CA.

“I went to film school in ’04 – The Academy of Arts (SF) – I dropped out because my Professors told me that I didn’t need this degree to be successful in the field,” says Synth.

Mainly recording Hip-Hop & R & B videos since ‘11, Synth has worked with the likes of Kurupt & Daz (Dogg Pound), Bobby Valentino and Tech N9ne. He has also worked with countless Sacramento-local performers such as Bueno, Nome Nomadd, Hollow Tip and Diamond Dez. One local hip-hop group, Tribe of Levi’s video, “Things to do” won a SAMMIE for Best Video by Jae Synth. The same video was featured, Oct 5 at The Third Annual Urban Film Summit in Del Paso Heights, along with other videos Synth has produced such as Nome Nomadd and Bueno’s music videos.

Proving to have a Hollywood video-recording smartness, blended with reality TV and vacation-style videography, Synth brings urban music to the forefront.

Having the ability to produce videos all over the world has been a perk in the industry. Synth has traveled to such places as Puerto Rico, Sweden, Amsterdam and Atlanta, GA.

Back in the Academy days, he recorded two documentaries, “Righteous Movement” about a Sacramento Hip-Hop Group that includes interviews and live performance footage. Synth also recorded “Love and Hate” that was shown at the Epidemic Film Festival in San Francisco, shortly after his travels began and his experiences in music video production expanded to new levels.

“I stay working, I’ve done over 100 Videos in 1 year and recently went you tube platinum”

Once Synth is caught up on all the new found music video fame, he will begin to integrate music production and engineering into his life once more.

“I miss making music,” says Synth.
